Why CDT

At Chattanooga Dance Theatre, we work to empower students. While solid technique is taught, it is always taught in an encouraging way. Teachers help students set goals and assist dancers to achieve them. Dancers feel supported, accomplished, and ready to take on more in life.

At CDT, we offer a supportive environment Our dancers respect each others individuality and foster a sense of community. Whether in group classes or performances, kindness is shown through collaboration. 

Dancers at CDT, strive for personal growth. Through goal setting, constructive feedback, and challenging comfort zones, dancers will grow in the technical skill and confidence.

Not only are the teachers supportive of the students at Chattanooga Dance Theatre, but the students are supportive of each other. It’s an encouraging environment that expressed by many and dancers often create lifelong friends at CDT.

Chattanooga Dance Theatre strives to help each dancer feel confident, capable, and motivated to reach their fullest potential, both in their dancer career and as individuals. 

Respect at the studio ensures everyone feels safe, valued, and supported. Our dancers learn respect through kindness, collaboration and a culture of professionalism. 

The development of various skills is key to a dancer's growth. We focus on technical skills, performance and creative skills. 

With a welcoming atmosphere, the student encourages dancers of all ages and levels to join. We encourage individuality. Students help one another. 

Students at Chattanooga Dance Theatre learn accountability in class and preparing for performances. Dancers are required to adhere to dress code, have hair properly pulled back and have all dance necessities in their dance bag. Students might use this skill outside the studio as well. 

Through our positive and collaborative environment, dancers feel supported and motivated by their peers.
